Anthony Carniello is an award-winning Canadian filmmaker, producer, and digital content creator based in Burlington, Ontario. A graduate of Toronto Film School, Anthony developed a passion for visual storytelling and filmmaking, creating meaningful, human-centred stories that connect audiences through shared experiences.
Anthony directed the documentary "Our Father," which was officially selected at four film festivals. Through the documentary, Anthony explored personal and emotionally driven storytelling, establishing an approach to filmmaking centered on authenticity, human connection, and emotional impact.
He later gained recognition for his short film "Making A Friend," which received more than a dozen awards and nominations, including Best Drama Short at the Atlanta Underground Film Festival. The film reflects his interest in stories surrounding human connection, acceptance, and understanding; themes that have continued throughout his work.
Anthony is also the director of "Dear Grandpa, It's Michael," a short film based on the true story of Michael Whitell, further demonstrating his interest in bringing intimate and personal stories to the screen.
As a filmmaker on the autism spectrum, Anthony draws from his own experiences and perspective when approaching characters, relationships, and stories that are often underrepresented on screen.
