Monika Schneider (she/her) is a Canadian actor, improviser, and instructor working in Montreal. She moved from Ottawa, where she was born and raised, to Toronto to study Acting at Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University). She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and was awarded outstanding actress in her graduating class. After writing and touring her one woman show Nevil, she moved to New York City where she performed in a variety of plays including The Euthanasist at the acclaimed theatre P.S. 122.
Her most recent acting credits include a lead role in the short film I Used To Live There directed by Ryan McKenna which screened at a number of festivals including Locarno, The Toronto International Film Festival, and Festival du Nouveau Cinéma. She also appeared recently in a supporting role in The Dendril directed by Morgan I.P. Fics and Geoffrey Norris, and Arknet directed by Marc Gilani.
Monika is heavily involved in the improv community as well. She has performed in several productions including Kevin McDonald does improv with the best of MTL, Films in Focus, and Shakespeare with a Vengeance. Past festivals include OFF JFL/Zoofest, Ladyfest, MPROV, Hartford, and the Big Pond Improv Festival.
Monika also enjoys voice over work and has worked on a variety of projects including voicing various characters for video games, audio books, and radio.
