Marlon Henry

Marlon "SirPlus? Henry hails from humble beginnings; a Nuclear family Christian home in the Walthams then later to Portmore in St. Catherine, the city in which he still resides. His Father was a school teacher and his mother a Secretary. Following in the footsteps of his father he attended the Mico Teachers’ College (now Mico University) cutting his teeth officially at Meadowbrook High in 2004. With stints at St Andrew High, Undergrad College, Quality Academics and back to his alma mater St. Jago High in 2007 to 2022. The love for the Arts was inherited also from his Dad who was a skilled artist and poet whose work adorned the walls of the family home many of which were dedicated to his mother. Although poetry was always on display and occasionally secular music played on Sundays, dreams of a music career was never encouraged. " Go take up your book" was the frequent command that all but stamped out these dreams. His dad employed acting and comedic skills many times in his classroom and wider school. This is where the 'acting bug' initially bit. His first real introduction with acting came in 2002, when he and a few of his batch mates at the Mico auditioned to be members of the Cathy Levy Players. This association opened an opportunity to audition for a then untitled movie being directed by Joel Burke. The movie would later be titled "Candy Shop" starring Everaldo Creary, Yuri Stewart, Melissa Fearon and Kyino Cunningham. In this he played the "Doorman." Joel Burke worked closely with Paul Bucknor (Firefly Films) as well as brothers Storm Saulter and Nile Saulter on their movies Betta' Mus come and GoatHead respectively, this gave Marlon the opportunity to be a part of a pool of actors that played roles in the aforementioned films. Marlon worked again with Joel Burke on a now memorable Jamaican commercial for Berts Auto Parts. This paved the path to Marlon being a popular choice for many commercials over the years. He has had roles in over 20 Jamaican commercials. His acting skills led him to be in multiple music videos for popular artistes such as Richie Spice, Queen Ifrica and Koffee. His most recent acting role was in the HBO tv series "Get Millie Black" where played 'Delroy' a vendor.
