Shih-Hsuan Kuo is a Taiwanese cinematographer in Los Angeles, known for blending cultural specificity with emotional depth. He began his filmmaking career in Taiwan, working on various projects that enhanced his technical skills and passion for storytelling.
Kuo holds an MFA in Cinematography from Chapman University and has collaborated on over fifteen narrative shorts, believing cinematography involves deep listening to emotional and cultural nuances. In 2024, he was selected for Issa Rae and Deniese Davis’s ColorCreative Find Your People Program and received the Panavision New Filmmakers Program Grant for his film MOVE.
His work has been screened at multiple film festivals, including Before You Let Go, which earned a NAACP nomination. He aims to create honest and intuitive images while collaborating with underrepresented voices.
