Mini bio

  • Phyllis Clayton (born Phyllis Shaw) was a British-American actress who immigrated to the U.S. during her early adulthood where she raised her four beautiful children, re-married to former movie star actor Ken Clayton and enjoyed a rigorous career working mostly as a Hollywood extra in the 1980s and '90s. She and Clayton were regularly appearing supportive cast on many of the most successful films and TV series of the time including Cheers and many more. Phyllis's classically sophisticated style combined with her facial expressions which always belied her quick witted and brilliant sense of humor earned her the close-up shot that was the comic relief at the climax of the film Three Men and a Little Lady. Phyllis retired with her husband to Palm Desert and spent her life adored by her four children and eleven grandchildren. She was a comedic genius and a style icon and she will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
