Biography

Manuela do Monte was born on December 7, 1984 in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She is an actress, known for Começar de Novo (2004), Young Hearts (1995) and Written in the Stars (2010).

Has a role in Apocalypse (2017) along with Flávia Monteiro, who originated the role of Carol in Chiquititas Brasil (1997). However, they did not share any scenes.

Beat out actresses Li Martins, Tammy Di Calafiori and Fernanda Pontes for the role of Carol in Chiquititas (2013).

Was inspired by her real life experiences as the godmother of an orphanage in Rio de Janeiro to prepare for the main role of Carol in Chiquititas (2013).

Would reportedly make parents "jealous" as their children would gleefully recognize her as her character Carol, from Chiquititas (2013).

Produced a stage play for children with her Chiquititas (2013) co-stars Carla Fioroni and the late João Acaiabe, which he directed.

[on possible comparisons to Flávia Monteiro's portrayal of Carol in Chiquititas Brasil (1997) ] My decision to be OK with this was to just not care about it, but focusing on my mission to know and rediscover Carol, to run deep in the story and, from this process, make the character my own every day.

I haven't gotten the chance to meet Flávia Monteiro. As part of the process [of making up the character of Carol], I used my own experiences frequenting the Romão Duarte institution in Rio. I'd already joined and just combined business with pleasure, intensifying my visits.
