Biography

Hanna Johansen was born on June 17, 1939 in Bremen, Germany. She was married to Adolf Muschg. She died on April 25, 2023 in Horgen, Zürich, Switzerland.

Was a member of PEN Switzerland.

Member of the Deutschen Akademie fur Sprache und Dichtung in Darmstadt.

She published her first novel in 1978.

Studied classical philology, education and German studies at the Universities of Marburg and Gottingen.

Began her literary career as a translator of American avant garde authors, and soon moved on to original work, particularly stories for children.
