  • Robert DeSue has a feature film resume spanning over 25 years. His stop-motion career began in 1998 at LAIKA's predecessor, Will Vinton Studios where he contributed to both Emmy award winning stop motion television series, The P.J.'s and Gary and Mike. Currently (2024) he serves as a Lead Creative in production and development at ShadowMachine and is currently in production as Production Designer on the stop motion TV series, The Tiny Chef Show for ShadowMachine and Nickelodeon. Prior to Tiny Chef, Rob served as Production Designer for In The Know, a stop motion series for NBC Universal / Peacock+, created by Mike Judge, and Directed by Zach Woods and Brandon Gardner. In 2022, Rob wrapped duties as Art Director on the Academy Award® winning Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio for Netflix. Previously, Rob has played an instrumental part in all five of LAIKA's award-winning stop motion, feature films, beginning with Academy Award® nominated Coraline (2009) and most recently as Art Director on the 2019 Golden Globe Award® winning, Missing Link. Rob began his feature film career in 1997, as a carpenter on Kevin Costner's feature, The Postman. Rob shares the Art Director's Guild® award for Excellence in Production Design for an Animated Film with Curt Enderle and Guy Davis for GDT's Pinocchio. In addition he has two nominations for Visual Effects Society awards in the category of Outstanding Created Environment for an Animated Feature, and he is credited as Set Decorator on the Academy Award® nominated feature film American Splendor (2003).
