Galo Recalde is an actor, producer, scriptwriter and director of Ecuadorian cinema, who is best known for the character of Dr. Expertus of the children's program of the same name, and for the parodies and characters in the humorous television program " Neither Live nor Direct" Dr. Expertus (1994-1997) In 1994 he starred in the children's program Dr. Expertus for the signal from the then television channel SíTV. The program was directed at the beginning by Stanley Lee Parker and later by Héctor Cáceres. He also worked with Ursula Strenge (Hanna), Gustavo Zevallos (Bungunala) and Fernando Gálvez (Calcetín); the latter were also the original scriptwriters of the program and later joined by Alberto Nácer and Rafael Ulloa.

In 1995, the program was named "best children's television program" in the Hispano-American Forum of Children's Television in Mexico DF. Later , Galo was named "the best artistic talent of the year" by the Ecuadorian Association of Advertising Agencies.

United States ( Early 2000's-2010)

He also worked in Miami Florida as a creative for MTV and América TeVe. He was part of a Univisa campaign characterizing a futuristic character called UNIVISARRR.

Captain Expertus (2011-2012) In 2010 he returns to Ecuador and in 2011 he works for Ecuavisa, in a new comic science fiction series, Captain Expertus, based on the character of Dr. Expertus with a new futuristic version.

In 2015 he returns to USA. He now lives in Redding California, he is the pioneer professor of the " Making Short movies " class at Simpson University in California. Here he produced and wrote-directed his recent short film " Americana!", which marks the re-start of his career as a filmmaker and creative artist in the United States.
