Stephen Philipson

Stephen Philipson, CCE is an award-winning editor whose work has screened around the world. His recent credits include "Blade Runner 2099" (Amazon) starring Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh, "Neuromancer" (Apple TV) starring Callum Turner, Ridley Scott's hit TV series "Raised by Wolves" (HBO Max), and Bryan Fuller's stylish classic series "Hannibal" (Gaumont/NBC) starring Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen. His feature credits include indie favorite "The Wild Hunt," voted Best Canadian First Feature and one of Canada's Top Ten by the Toronto International Film Festival, and "Grown Up Movie Star," a prize-winner at Sundance. Never one to turn down an adventure, he once traveled to Sri Lanka to edit an epic Action/Romance about the Sri Lankan civil war (in Tamil and Singhalese) for a director who contacted him randomly over the internet. A graduate of the Canadian Film Centre and Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Stephen's break came on the 2009 documentary "Prom Night in Mississippi" (starring Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman), which premiered at Sundance, broadcast on HBO, and screened at The White House. He also edited the hit TV comedy "Todd and the Book of Pure Evil" (Space/FearNet/SyFy), "Molly Maxwell," a coming-of-age feature drama by Sara St. Onge, and "Anne with an E," by the Emmy Award-winning writer of Breaking Bad Moira Walley-Beckett.

Giving back to the editing community is very important to Stephen. In addition to teaching workshops and mentoring emerging editors, he has served on the board of the Canadian Cinema Editors for eight years, including four as President.

Stephen holds two degrees and three passports. He is eligible to work in the United States, Britain and Canada.
