Biography

Jack-Henry Lee

Mini bio

  • Jack-Henry Lee is an animator and multimedia artist making funny, gross and spiritual independent films about cycles of degeneration and regeneration (and the pervasive power of love) in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, in 2024 with a BFA in 2D Animation and Digital Art. Before graduation he worked as a student actor in numerous short films. Lee also kept a habit of directing one-off experimental live-action short films in between animated projects.

His senior capstone film, Phallic Don Is Dead, theatrically premiered at the DDA animation "Best Of" show, screening at the Brooklyn Alamo Drafthouse and winning the "Best Experimental Animation" award. Phallic Don screened at many festivals around New York and was played internationally in Amsterdam, Utrecht, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Other shorts in Lee's "The Diaphanus Tetralogy" would go on to screen internationally and win festival awards across the globe. His crude, philosophical, jerky, rough, mixed-media approach garnered him multiple "Frontpaged" awards from the website Newgrounds.
