Patricia graduated with honors from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico, with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Science and a minor in Film. She also graduated as a Filmmaker, with honors, from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, considered by the Hollywood Reporter one of the top 20 film schools in the world.
She has written and directed short films and documentaries that have been showcased at International Film Festivals. Some of these include "Matilde Landeta", a documentary about the legendary Mexican Filmmaker and "La Vaquita Marina" ("The Little Cow"), about the endangered marine mammal filmed in its environment for the first time in history, for which she won the First Prize in the Third Biennial of Video, among other awards.
She has directed award-winning commercials, such as "Dad" that took the Grand Prix at the New York Festival, and "Reality" which won numerous awards, including a Gold Prize at the Addys, the PSA category at the 15th annual AICP Show, and is included in the permanent collection at the MoMA. She directed one of the "Bedtime Stories" for Milk, Grupo Gallegos, awarded with a Bronze Lion Media Award in 2013 in Cannes.
Patricia wrote, directed and produced the feature "AQUÍ ENTRE NOS" (Between us), which was a box office success in Mexico, lasting 22 weeks in theaters, and was one of the top 5 Mexican box office films in 2012. It also won more than 10 awards at International Film Festivals and was selected as the Opening Night Gala Film at LALIFF (Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival) for its 15th anniversary. This film is currently streaming on Netflix.
She was chosen by NALIP (National Association of Latin Independent Producers) to be the 2012 Estela Award narrative winner: "This award is given to a talented Latino filmmaker that has distinguished himself/herself through their work to date and whose achievements reveal leadership, creativity and tenacity, as well as vision and passion for his/her craft."
Recently, she was selected to be part of the Emerging Director Program at NBCUniversal.
As a screenwriter, she has written two new screenplays, which she's planning to direct, as well as a Pilot for a series. She is also the author of the book "Directoras De Cine: Proyección de un Mundo Oscuro" ("Women Directors: Projection of a Dark World") published by the Mexican Film Institute, IMCINE.
