Elaine Overholt has established herself as one of North America's most respected and treasured singers, voice coaches and producers. Her diverse musical training and performance in classical piano, classical voice, gospel, theatre, and rock music has led her to a deep understanding of all styles of singing.
An extensive performing career has allowed her the opportunity to sing with titans of music Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Dionne Warwick, Anne Murray, Martin Short and Paul Shaffer amongst them. Ms. Overholt has also performed as a soloist on world stages, major network television, albums, films, thousands of jingles and has recorded two albums with a number three single on Billboard.
Elaine's gift for teaching is well known in Hollywood and Broadway, having personally coached stars John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Zac Efron & Michelle Pfeiffer in 'Hairspray' the movie. She was also thrilled to coach Richard Gere, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger, and Queen Latifah for the Oscar-winning 'Chicago'. Her teaching Ellen Degeneres to sing in a live segment on her hit talk show 'The Ellen Degeneres Show' created a huge youTube phenomenon. As a Broadway coach Elaine trained many singers in lead roles for the Broadway hits 'Once', 'The Producers' 'Rent' and 'The Sound Of Music'. Also, record labels such as Universal, Capitol, Warner, Sony, Island, Interscope, send their recording artists to Ms. Overholt where they learn to protect their voices and develop stamina and style. Even The San Francisco Ballet benefited from Elaine's coaching as she prepared this world class troupe for their singing debut in their hit production of Jerome Robbins' 'West Side Story Suite'. She has also coached Shawn Mendes, whose album has just debuted at #1 in North America and is touring with Taylor Swift.
Her compelling TV series, 'Big Voice', has aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) in Canada and the US, and her Big Voice Studios is located in downtown Toronto.
