Born and raised in Chennai, India, Karthikeyan Mani is a filmmaker and entrepreneur. Being an avid reader of history and growing up in Tamil Nadu (India) which still speaks one of the oldest languages to be continuously spoken, he was drawn towards a 2000 year old Tamil poem as the subject for his first movie "Puram".
