- Rex Mossop was born on February 18, 1928 in Five Dock, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He was an actor, known for Andrew Denton & The Live and Sweaty Cast: I Don't Care As Long As We Beat New Zealand (1993), The Don Lane Show (1975) and The Tommy Leonetti Show (1969). He was married to Joan Mildred Bell. He died on June 17, 2011 in Manly Vale, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

- Was a life member of the New South Wales Rugby League since December 1999.
- After retiring from Rugby League, Rex hosted his own sports program on Sydney's Channel 7 for over 20 years. From 1986 to 1990, he was a Rugby League commentator at Channel 10. Also briefly at Channel 9 in 1993.
- Played in 2 losing NSWRL grand finals against St George in 1957 and 1959. Rex was sent off in 1959's grand final for an incident involving St George player Harry Bath.

He'd come up before a game and pull you aside and whisper, ["Now, you're the only bloke in the team capable of doing this. It's all up to you. If you succeed in your job, we all succeed."] There wasn't a man in the maroon and white who wouldn't have run through a brick wall for Ken Arthurson.
