Biography

With a passion for telling compelling stories through nuanced comedy, Jilian Tolzmann is a multidisciplinary artist currently acting, directing, writing and producing on both screen and stage.

She has performed with various theatres such as The Cultch and Carousel Theatre. Expanding on her Baba Yaga passion, she apprentice directed Touchstone Theatre's production of YAGA at Gateway Theatre. In addition to acting, Jilian has been a musician for 15 years. She also has a plethora of credits in additional departments, anywhere from costumes to art.

Jilian loves jumping into new creative challenges and experiences. A directorial highlight was her 2023 & 2024 RunNGun 48 Hour Film best youth team nomination --a true example of her adventurous creative nature.

Jilian was led to theatre from her musical background in singing, piano and dance. She has been on a stage from a young age, when she started to play the piano, which was her entry into the performing arts. Since being in her first musical, she has performed in more productions and also enjoys working behind the scenes. She is also active in the Film and Television Industry. Jilian has a passion for ocean conservation and giving back to the community.
