Chris Joannou was born on 10 November 1979 in Merewether, Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. He is an actor and writer, known for Silverchair: Israel's Son (1996), Silverchair: Ana's Song (Open Fire) (1999) and Silverchair: Tomorrow (Version 1) (1994).

Plays Bass for hugely popular Australian rock band, Silverchair.

Does not write the songs with his Silverchair bandmates, Ben Gillies
and Daniel Johns, who share the writing credits between them.
