John York is a highly experienced Re-recording Mixer and Supervising Sound Editor working on many Films and TV series for the main Broadcasters - from Period and US Action Drama - to Comedy including 'The Inbetweeners' and 'Red Dwarf'.
At the National Theatre he was Assistant Head of Sound and a Sound Designer/ Mixer - working on plays with the top Theatre Directors - including Stephen Daldry and Sam Mendes - who later became known for films such as 'Billy Elliot' and James Bond's 'Spectre' & 'Skyfall' respectively.
In recent times he has Dubbed a New York based film with another with Bond Director, Roger Spottiswoode
He was Head of Dubbing at Fremantle Media's TV Drama series 'The Bill'. As a Dubbing Mixer/ Editor it involved a high content of Location sound, Car chases, Fights and Gun sequences.
His career has spanned over decades commencing with the largest ITV Broadcaster of its era, Thames Television - working on the top TV shows - in TV Studios, on Location Drama and Outside Broadcasts.
John is a Mentor - and in the past 14 years has been hosting the fortnightly Soho networking event 'Dub Down the Pub'.
