Karen Hanson is an executive producer/writer on the TV series "Breaking Character" and producer/writer on "Wild Archaeology." Her broadcast credits include CBC, HBO, AMI and APTN. Before transitioning into film & television, she worked in book publishing for many years, most recently as an acquisitions editor for HarperCollins Canada, where she developed a list of critically acclaimed fiction and non-fiction titles that have sold internationally and been optioned for the screen. While still in publishing, she began making dramatic & experimental short films and worked as a script/story-optioning analyst for the Harold Greenberg Fund, Telefilm Canada and the Canadian Film Centre. Co-founder of Winterhouse Films, Karen is now focused on documentary one-offs and series.
