Taylor Zemlak is a Vancouver-based professional makeup artist specializing in special effects (SFX) and prosthetics. She does makeup for film, events, and haunted house attractions, as well as teaching makeup at JCI Institute.
She graduated with Honors from the JCI Institute in 2021 with a Diploma in Makeup Artistry and quickly established herself in the film industry. Her passion for education led her to teach makeup at Kosmetae Academy before returning to JCI in 2024 as a makeup instructor. She also hosts her own SFX makeup workshops, covering a variety of makeup techniques.
In 2024, she earned a Leo Award for Best Makeup in a Motion Picture for her work on Zoe.mp4 (2023). She is a permittee with both ACFC West and IATSE 212, continuing to expand her on-set experience in union productions.
When not working in film or education, Taylor enjoys sculpting and creating custom prosthetics in her home studio, as well as writing and recording music as a creative outlet. She also occasionally works as an actress in a variety of film productions.
