  • Winters was included in the book "Antwerp residents we should never forget" (2009) by Freddy Michiels.
  • When World War II broke out in 1940, Winters fled Belgium and spent two years traveling through France, Spain, Canada, and the Netherlands Antilles, where he became press officer. In 1947, he returned to Antwerp where he resumed his publications in the Gazet van Antwerpen.
  • Winters also wrote plays for the Flemish National Theatre, including radio and television plays and several novels. He was inducted into the European Honorary Senate in 1978.
  • Eugeen Winters was a Dutch-Flemish cartoonist and illustrator.
  • In 1929 he drew his first cartoons for the newspaper "De Gazet van Antwerpen".
