Biography

Aurora Iler is an Australian Actress, director, writer and Year 10 student.

She began acting at eight and directed her first short film, Melon Head, at twelve, winning Best Young Director and Best Young Writer at the Young Entertainer Awards in Hollywood.

At thirteen she wrote, directed and starred in Grape, a short film about teenage vaping funded by the Queensland Family and Child Commission. The film had a curriculum made around it with literature for teachers before it was made available across 1,700+ Australian schools. Aurora won Best Actress at the 45th Annual Young Artist Academy Awards in 2024 and Most Outstanding Director at the 47th Annual Young Artist Academy Awards in 2026, both for Grape, having been nominated four times.

Her other credits include the feature film Blood Money (2025), filmed in Texas, and Magic Chalk, filmed in Brisbane, a short film produced for domestic violence charity RizeUp Australia. In 2025 she was selected from over two million teenagers across Australia and New Zealand for LEGO's "She Built That" campaign and in the same year earned the "Ones to watch" Award at the NSW Women of the Year Awards.

Aurora holds a US O-1B visa and is based between Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles. She speaks at schools nationally about her work and travels regularly for productions.
