Lilli Gruber was born on April 19, 1957 in Bolzano, Alto Adige, Italy. She is an actress, known for La TV delle ragazze (1988), Si muore tutti democristiani (2017) and Dov'è Mario? (2016). She has been married to Jacques Charmelot since July 15, 2000.

First female news host in Italian television. She presented "TG 1" from 1987 to 2004.

Resigned from her job at public TV network RAI because of the big media influence of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, which she considered an "unresolved conflict of interest" (April 2004).
