- New wave rock and pop band of the 1970s and 1980s whose members included Ric Ocasek, Elliot Easton, Ben Orr, Greg Hawkes and David Robinson. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
- The music video for their song "Drive" was directed by Timothy Hutton.
- Bass guitar Ben Orr replaced Ric Ocasek as singer for three songs of the band: The Cars: Just What I Needed (1978), The Cars: Let's Go (1979) and The Cars: Drive (1984). Ironically, "Drive" became one of their biggest hits.
