- Attended The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina before studying theater at the College of Charleston.
- Was an NCAA Division I wrestler at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. After injuring his shoulder he transferred to The College of Charleston where he majored in theater.
- Won the Golden Crescent Award for Best Screenplay at the 2009 Charleston International Film Festival for his screenplay "Lowcountry".
