- Clem Schouwenaars was born on December 28, 1932 in Mortsel, Flanders, Belgium. He was a writer and actor, known for De lente van Jonathan (1965), The Interview (1967) and Baas Gansendonck (1974). He died on September 10, 1993 in Lubbeek, Flanders, Belgium.
- His first novel Jij, een meermin? (English: You, a mermaid?) is characterized by personal considerations and thoughts, and he is considered to be an autobiographical author, inspired by personal experiences.
