Biography

Michael Maccini is known for Scream 2 (1997), Altitude (2017) and After School Special (2017).

Father-in-law is director Wes Craven.

He wrote the song "Take Away The Fear" after his second date with Jessica Craven. When asked by Bob Weinstein to compose a song for Scream 2, Michael read the script and asked Jessica to contribute new lyrics and musical arrangements for the song written about her. Jessica, undeniably her dad's #1 fan and already an established singer of many TV commercials and studio sessions, created a dark, moody sound and she ended up singing it for the soundtrack!

Mr. Maccini was asked by Richard Switzer Producer and actor of "School's Out", to write theme song for movie. David Gere (Producer/Actor) helped Mr. Maccini with lyrics after they meditated together on the beach in Malibu.

Sean Penn inspired Mr. Maccini's character "Josh Tree". Penn told Maccini to watch "how twisted and amazing Gary Oldman is in "True Romance"...and add that to "Mr. Tree. Forget about Spicoli. Josh Tree isn't a flower.".

Michael started touring as a "Sideman" in 1985 as a guitar player. He also toured with David Bowie, Faking Normal and him and the late Jeff Buckley opened the infamous lounge SINE on St. Marks Place in NYC. Michael is releasing a new album with his band LOUNGE July 2020.
