Arina Averina
Arina Averina is a Russian rhythmic gymnast. Four-time world champion , seven-time European champion. Honored Master of Sports of Russia.
Arina, like her twin sister Dina Averina, began doing rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 4. The elder sister, Polina, was a member of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team, and a rhythmic gymnastics coach. Since September 2011, Arina began training at the Novogorsk Training Center. She and Dina were noticed at the Young Gymnast competition, and after training in Croatia, they were invited to the Olympic Training Center for training.
Since 2014, Arina and Dina have been going to more serious competitions. They took part in the Moscow Championship, where Dina became the 2014 Moscow Champion, and Arina was second.
2017 was a triumphant year for the Averina sisters. At the European Championships in Budapest, Arina won three golds - in the team, as well as in the ball and clubs events. At the World Championships in Pesaro, Arina won five medals, two of which were gold (ball and ribbon). She was also second in the all-around and hoop events, and third in the clubs event. In the all-around (absolute championship), she was second only to her sister Dina.
At the 2018 World Championships in Sofia and at the 2019 in Baku, Arina was able to win gold only in the team event, becoming a four-time world champion.
