Dina Averina
Dina Averina is a Russian rhythmic gymnast. Olympic silver medalist (2020). Thirteen-time world champion (2017, 2018, 2019), three-time absolute world champion (2017, 2018, 2019), European Games champion (2019), six-time European champion (2017, 2019). Honored Master of Sports of Russia.
Together with her sister Arina Averina, she started doing rhythmic gymnastics at the age of four. The elder sister, Polina Averina, was a member of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team. Since September 2011, she has been training at the Novogorsk Training Center. Together with Arina, they were noticed at the Young Gymnast competition, and after training in Croatia, they were invited to the Olympic Training Center for training.
Since 2014, the sisters have been going to more serious competitions. They took part in the Moscow Championship, where Dina became the 2014 Moscow Champion, Arina was second.
Dina's 2017 season began with gold in the all-around at the Grand Prix in Moscow. She took 3 more golds in the finals with hoop, clubs and ribbon. At the Russian Championship, she takes the gold medal in the all-around, thereby becoming the Absolute Champion of Russia 2017. The 2017 World Championships in Pesaro, Italy, became a triumph for her. She won the most prestigious title - in the all-around, absolute world champion. She also became world champion in the hoop and clubs event, and vice-world champion with a ball and ribbon. Thus, at the first World Championships in her life, Dina Averina became a three-time world champion, including absolute.
At the 2018 World Championships in Sofia, Dina Averina became a triumphant winner. She won the gold medal in the individual all-around, confirming her status as the absolute world champion, and also won the finals with a hoop, ball, and clubs. As part of the Russian national team, she won gold in the team all-around.
At the 2019 World Championships in Baku, Dina won the ball final and also won gold medals in clubs and ribbon. She won her third gold in the individual all-around.
