Biography

John O'Malley is an American actor, writer, and producer whose work includes the award-winning short film Pandemic Trilogy and Man-Up. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he attended Rockhurst High School and Marquette University where he earned a B.A. degree in English and History. He discovered his passion for acting during a six-year stint in the U.S. Navy, landing the role of the Boatswain in Shakespeare's The Tempest on a Portland, Oregon stage.

Since then, he has worked as a radio broadcaster, journalist, and teacher, eventually founding his own communications agency in Southern California. Despite his diverse career path, he has never lost his passion for creative work in stage and film. He recently produced and acted in the medieval morality drama Everyman, as well as the musical/drama With Love to Orvieto, St. Thomas Aquinas, and the Feast of Corpus Christi. He also starred as Amphitryon in a staged reading of the classic Senecan tragedy Hercules Furens, translated by renowned poet Dana Gioia.

John enjoys reading poetry and novels, developing his acting skills, traveling, visiting museums, working out and hiking, watching soccer and football, learning Chinese, and spending time with friends over coffee, wine, or Irish whiskey.
