Biography

Kayshawn Akime Wallace is an award-winning Boston bred filmmaker living in Los Angeles, California. He harnessed his storytelling abilities at Syracuse University with acquiring a U.S History and Cultural Anthropology Degree. In his personal work, Kayshawn loves to discuss intersecting themes of self-identity, culture, and isolation. His first official short film Out of Time won Best Horror Film at the Hollywood Gold Short film festival and Best First-Time Filmmaker at the San Francisco Indie Short film festival. He believes he gained his creative and driven spirit from his Caribbean mother and father; Ingride Francouer and Tasfa Wallace. Who both immigrated to the U.S from Haiti and Jamaica respectively in search of better opportunities. Kayshawn credits his passion for history at a young age as the start of his fondness for storytelling. Through his production company Mural Productions, Wallace continues to create and direct independent films as well as work with other filmmakers on story development. He is an up and coming filmmaker who still considers himself a student of cinema.
