Biography

Nic Altobelli is a Canadian independent filmmaker and actress. She is an alumna of the Canadian Film Centre Norman Jewison Film Program and of the Women in the Director's Chair Program. She is a CMPA member and has produced projects in Toronto, Vancouver, Vietnam and Los Angeles. Her production company AREA V5 PICTURES has a bold slate of features and TV series. Nic has produced films that have been selected by TIFF, SXSW, Festival du Nouveau Cinema, Fantasia, Fright Fest, VIFF, Whistler Film Festival and Reelworld. Nic's writing and directing work lives under her banner NALTOBEL and has been selected by Oscar qualifying festival Bogotá Short Film Festival, Tallgrass, Hollywood Horrorfest, Chilliwack Independent, Blood in the Snow and TIMVF. Her work has been seen around the world and impact on audiences continues to grow.

Prior to diving into media production, she completed a Bachelor of Science and Economics Degree at a prestigious University while simultaneously running a not-for-profit. She is an advanced equestrian in the English discipline and is passionate about animal care. She also has extensive outdoor recreation experience; including canoeing, rock climbing, backcountry navigation and camping.
