Biography

Ana Luz Zambrana is a Puerto Rican actor, director, and writer from Orlando, Florida.

Her short film that she co-wrote/Stars in/Produced "A West Side Story Story" is about a Puerto Rican Theater Director trying to put on an authentic production of "West Side Story." It recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and is produced by Luis Guzman.

As a theatre artist, Ana has been awarded a Van Lier Directing Fellowship at Repertorio Español, chosen for the Kennedy Center Directing Initiative, and is a BiPOC Critic Lab Alum. Her off-Broadway adaptation of La Traición en la Amistad, has been cited in academic texts.

La Tormenta, Ana's first play as a writer, was a finalist for the Jane Chambers Feminist Playwriting Award, and has been slected for The Seattle Public Theater's Distillery New Works Festival. The play received its first reading as part of Solfest 2024.

Ana's debut lead in a feature, Don't Turn Out The Lights, premiered on Hulu in October of 2024. She has B.F.A from University of Central Florida and attended programs at the British American Drama Academy at Oxford University, and Atlantic Theater Co.
