- Fernanda Melchor is a Mexican writer best known for her novel "Hurricane Season" for which she was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize.
Melchor obtained a degree in Journalism from Universidad Veracruzana. She began her writing career in 2013 with the publishing of "This is not Miami" and "False Hare", this last being her first novel. She has published fiction and nonfiction in publications such as The Paris Review, Le Monde Diplomatique and Vanity Fair Latin America.
Her novel "Hurricane Season" gained her world recognition. Most recently she published "Paradais".
The Netflix Original series Somos. (2021) is her first foray into the world of TV.
