Anne Mueller(III)

Anne Mueller is an Vietnamese-Canadian educator and an award-winning filmmaker based in amiskwaciwâskahikan / Edmonton, Alberta. Anne’s early experiences working as an actor and an educator, along with an internship with the CBC, sparked her deep passion for storytelling. Anne brings a curiosity and a keen eye to her work, frequently exploring themes of wonder, courage, and resilience. Anne’s directorial debut, Cooking with Kyssara (2021), enjoyed a three-season run on TELUS Optik TV and earned multiple film festival accolades. In 2025, Anne wrote, directed, and produced the short documentary The Artist: A Creative Journey. Featuring Juno-nominated artist Tyler Shaw, the film examines art’s transformative impact on community well-being. The documentary was nominated by Hollywood North International Film Festival for Best Documentary and screened in theatres across Canada. Anne is writing, directing and producing FALLING IN ACTION (2027), a short documentary spotlighting Asian-Canadian stunt performers and the development of safe training spaces. She is also directing a documentary titled Radical Joy - An Azimuth Love Letter (2027), based on the exploration and celebration of local artists. Through Misty Forest Films, Anne produces uplifting, thought-provoking films that seek to expand opportunities for underrepresented creatives.
