Biography

Ricky Melendez was born on November 22, 1967 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is an actor, known for Quiero Ser (1981), Es por amor (1982) and The Bell (1989). He is married to Miriam Calderín. They have two children.

At age 8, he was one of the original members of the Puerto Rican pop sensation group, Menudo. He was the longest to have stayed in the group

• from 1977 to 1984.

Is now an attorney-at-law in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Replaced by Ricky Martin in Menudo.

Brother of original Menudo singers Oscar Melendez and Carlos Melendez. Cousin of Menudo founder Edgardo Diaz.
