Biography

Studied English Literature at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University. During her studies she was a member of the Footlights Comedy Club and toured in the award-winning revue "Far Too Happy" which she also co-wrote.

Gave birth to her 1st child at age 33, a daughter named Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina Windsor on August 15, 2013 who is 42nd in line to the British throne. Child's father is her husband, Lord Frederick Windsor.

Half-sister of Claudia Winkleman.

In December 2017, Sophie Winkleman was involved in a terrifying accident whilst on the way home from work, after an oncoming car swerved into hers to avoid a deer. She was left with serious injuries from the crash, sustaining a broken back, foot, and internal injuries.

(September 12, 2009) Married her longtime boyfriend Lord Frederick Windsor following a 7-month-long engagement.

I was going to change my name to Sophie Windsor, but then I decided not to. I prefer to go into the room just as Sophie Winkleman.

I'm not one of those girls who can think, 'Right, I'll put a scarf with that and a little brooch there and maybe a vintage jacket.' I'm so impressed with girls who look terrific in a little thing they picked up at the local charity shop. I just look scruffy when I try to do vintage.

I tried to go to the gym a while ago and hurt my foot. I thought, 'Well, exercise and I just aren't meant to be.'
