Billy Earheart was born on February 21, 1954 in Tullahoma, Tennessee, USA. He was married to Katherine. He died on May 13, 2025 in Fulton, Mississippi, USA.

He had three younger sisters.

Billy loved music early and had one year of piano lessons as a child. The piano teacher wasn't teaching the music he wanted to play, so he taught himself.

In 1973, Billy was a founding member of The Amazing Rhythm Aces and received a Grammy Award in 1977 for Best Country Performance for Vocal Duo or Group for "The End is Not in Sight.".
