Murphee Thompson is a neurodivergent, working-class writer-director and actor from Birmingham, England. Her recent credits include the BBC series Doctors. As a filmmaker, her short films The Roaring and Headspace (which draws on her personal experience with ADHD) have received critical acclaim. Both films have been recognized at prestigious festivals, including the BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica, the Royal Television Society, and the Manchester Film Festival. She was recently selected for the BFI New Directors Scheme and a finalist for the Slick Films Fund.
