Paul Andersson(1930-1976)

Paul Andersson was a Swedish poet and central figure in the Metamorphosis Group. He made his literary debut with "Ode till okänd konstellation/Ode to an Unknown Constellation" in 1952. His breakthrough came the following year with the 450-line poem "Elegi över en förlorad sommar/Elegy over a Lost Summer". Paul Andersson was a street-smart, educated and well-mannered young man, despite growing up in orphanages and reform schools. He occupied a prominent place in Swedish literature and was portrayed on films like "Les Tricheurs" (1958) by Marcel Carné. During the 60's Andersson tried to make his mark in Paris and Rome.
