Chee Wei Tay is a Singapore-born, Australia-based composer for film and television. His work spans feature films, documentaries, and international broadcast productions for networks including PBS, National Geographic, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, HBO Asia, and Channel NewsAsia. He composed music for Kingdom of the Elephants (2007, Discovery Channel Asia), winner of the Asian Television Award for Best Natural History / Wildlife Programme. His credits also include PBS NOVA science documentaries such as Emmy-nominated Black Hole Apocalypse (2018) and Decoding the Weather Machine (2018), as well as Rise of the Mammals (2019), The Last Extinction (2009), and Decoding Da Vinci (2019). His score for Taking Venice (2026) was noted in reviews for contributing to the film’s heightened thriller-like tone.
