He has a diverse artistic background in photography, graphic design, and creative writing. Brett began screenwriting in the late 90s after his transition from acting. Not long after, he attained management with his first feature screenplay, "The Black Dahlia Mystery," a haunting, mysterious whodunit tale about Beth Short and her infamous 1947 murder. In the early 2000s, his scripts received "first look" reads with MGM Studios.
After a 17-year break from the Hollywood industry, Brett returned to his long, lost passion for screenwriting in early 2021, which lead to an unexpected, unplanned, successful run on the summer 2021 film festival circuit with several short and feature screenplays. And his film fest success continues with new feature works.
Brett is a native of Seattle, Washington, where he still resides.
