Miguel Zayas(I)

Miguel Zayas Director, Director of Photography, CEO & Founder of Sentido Común, Inc. International Cinematographer Guild member since 2009. Director and multiple award-winning filmmaker with a passion for storytelling with over 20 years of experience. His passion for bringing creative ideas to a cinematic language allows Zayas to communicate a message to the audience in a stunning and unimaginable way.

As director and cinematographer, he shot and interviewed Lady Gaga for content in her Live Nation's Latin America Tour. Zayas has filmed over 200 commercials for clients such as Puerto Rico Tourism Company, Medalla, Walmart, Snapple, FedEx, Colgate, Banco Popular, Vitamin Water, AT&T, Nissan, KFC, Bacardí, Econo Supermarkets, among many others. Zayas has worked in Hollywood projects like Contac, Amistad, and Stephen Hopkins's film "Under Suspicion," where he assisted Dir. Hopkins and First A.D. Cliff Lanning. He shot Press Material Interviews for Warner Brother's "Losers"; shot and directed ten mini-episodes for the creation of the digital content distribution platform Cinema Gustazos. Similarly, he is the creator of original content projects like Beyond Salsa, Timelapse Project, VIAnimados, Dream Chaser, 13 episodes reality show TV "Jefas" presented by NBC Telemundo and shot-directed Viral video content for "JetBlue Abuelos" and Victor Manuel's Jet blue "Aplauso en Clave." In 2015, he received an Emmy nomination for Director of Photography on a short documentary production and Emmy winner for Best Director Live - Recorded Live Broadcast Production for Atención Atención Live Concert.

Since 2003, he has been president and business owner of the production house sentidocomun.tv, directing and shooting mainstream advertising campaigns for Puerto Rico's major TV media. In 2020, Sentido Común won Best Concept among four major Advertising agencies for creating Econo Supermarket's 50th-anniversary campaign. At the beginning of the pandemic in March, he shot and directed with a cellphone "Wilkins Live," one of the most viewed, shared and commented live streams in PR. Sentido Común Live- Streamed Rauw Alejandro's Concert to multiple Caribbean Cinemas theaters, being the first to do so in Puerto Rico. Recorded Wisin & Yandel 14 Historic Coliseum Record and in New Year's Eve 2022-23 transmitted live from T Mobile center 5 performances artists closing with Farruko for Dick Clark's New Year's Eve NBC.

In 2023 among various mainstream tv advertising campaigns, recorded live Rauw Alejandro's Hiram Bithorn concert "Saturno", Faith Festival Live from National Park El Morro Featuring Farruko. He recorded live and live-stream "Daddy Yankee's La Meta" a magical homage of the artist's 30-year career all hits historic performance for his "Good By" from the stages. On December 2, 2023 received an Emmy Award for Best Short Documental TV Special "West Side Story" a Behind the Scenes look of a Puerto Rican unique adaptation of the play in honor of Rita Moreno, aired in NBC Telemundo.
