Nagamasa Kawakita was born on 30 January 1903 in Tokyo, Japan. He was a producer, known for Madame Butterfly (1954), Atarashiki tsuchi (1937) and Tôyô heiwa no michi (1938). He was married to Kashiko Kawakita. He died on 24 May 1981 in Tokyo, Japan.

In 1960, he and his wife, <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm1213230/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Kashiko Kawakita</a>, founded the Japan Film Library
Council - now the Kawakita Memorial Film Institute.

In October of 1928, founded Tôwa Shôji Eiga-bu, a film production and
distribution company.

Father of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm1207043/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Kazuko Kawakita</a>.
