For more than 35 years, Chuck Simon has been a prolific Producer, as well as a Studio Production and Development Executive. As Paramount Television Distribution's first Executive in Charge of Production & Development, he launched shows like "Make Me Laugh", "Solid Gold", "Entertainment Tonight", and "Cold Sassy Tree". At Cannon Films, he founded the three Television Divisions while holding the position of Sr. Executive V.P Feature Films and President of Television. Chuck supervised over twenty-six theatrical motion pictures in one three-year period alone. He was the Executive In Charge of Production for such films as "Missing In Action", the Academy Award ® Nominated "Runaway Train", and John Frankenheimer's "52 Pick-up"; as well as TV mini-series like "The Sea Hawk". Chuck's most recent feature, was a horror-thriller "SXTAPE", Co-Produced with Steven Schneider ("Paranormal Activity", "Insidious") and Directed by Bernard Rose ("Mr. Nice", "Candyman"), released in 2014.
He is currently developing an hour drama series based on characters created by Agatha Christie, in association with Sonar Entertainment. Diane Ruggiero (Veronica Mars), show-runner of the current hit "iZombie" is the show-runner. Chuck is also producing a long-form Civil Rights drama based on the life of activist Clyde Kennard, as well as another series based on the real-life exploits of famed journalist "Nellie Bly" in association with the U.K.'s Raydar Media.
Throughout his television career, Chuck has produced hundreds of hours of television special events and series including the award winning "Count Basie at Carnegie Hall" (CBS), "Hallelujah Gospel" (Showtime), "Starfest: The Stars Salute Public Television" (PBS), "Life & Other Issues with Molly Ivins" (PBS/MacNeil-Lehrer), "XX Annual Tejano Music Awards" (Syndication) and the Emmy Awards. In 2002 Chuck launched the SyFy Channel's Saturday Night Creature Features through his productions of "Terminal Invasion" and "Control Factor".
Chuck's Television and Home Video & Digital consulting business represent a diverse list of clients worldwide including OWN, BET/Viacom, Paramount Pictures, Olive Films, CBS Home Entertainment, Warner Home Entertainment, The Stephen J. Cannell Studios, Mill Creek Entertainment, Harry & Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, and the estates of Norman Mailer, John Ritter and many more. He has been represented by and maintains a close association with all the major talent agencies. Chuck is a current member of the WGAw, a past member of the Producers Guild, as well as a member of the select committee of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Chuck is represented in film business affairs by Robert Myman of Myman, Greenspan, Finneman, Fox and Light LLP., and in Television by Leslie Abell, former managing partner of the above firm.
