- Met her husband, Michael, in 2005 at the National Assembly of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL), wherein Maybelyn was a host.
- A politician, she was elected as city councilor of Dagupan City, serving a three-term limit (from 2013 to 2022). She replaced her husband Michael in the 2013 elections (he also served for three-term limit) and was replaced by him in the 2022 elections.
- She is the board chair of the Red Cross in Pangasinan.
