Biography

Muara Johnston is a graduate of the prestigious American Film Institute (AFI). She was formally a nationally syndicated television show producer, deejay, and manager of nonprofit organizations. In 2001 she co-authored the book, Kiss Off Letters to Men, with Erica Dankoff. She has held adjunct teaching positions in film at Full Sail University, in Florida, as well as California Polytechnic State University, in San Luis Obispo. She was the co-director of the San Luis Obispo Jewish Film Festival, and held the position for over 10 year. Johnston is also active in social justice causes working to support Persons with Disabilities and LGBT Rights. Her work in Education and Museum Management has yielded several national awards for innovation excellence.
