Ariel Baska

Ariel Baska is the festival director of Access:Horror, which celebrates disability and genre through horror and experimental filmmaking. They have worked with Anarchists United, SXSW, and the Academy Museum as a filmmaker, speaker, and advisor. They won the Disability Advocacy Award from Superfest Disability Film Festival for their first film, Our First Priority (2022), sending a doctor to hell for telling a patient it’s all in her head. Ariel is a fellow of the Portland Art Museum (PAMCUT) Sustainability Lab, where they regularly speak and mentor other artists. Their most recent short film, Monstrous Me, received grants from Southern Documentary Fund, Sunny Side of the Doc (via ReelAbilities), and The Chimaera Project, and is executive produced by Lilly Wachowski.
