Biography

Josie Juliette Wert was born on August 18th, 2002 in Charlotte, NC. The born and raised North Carolinian attended Pine Lake Preparatory charter school where she found her love and passion for acting. Shortly after, she began training with local theater classes and eventually auditioning and participating in many local theater productions. She signed with her first talent agency in the summer of 2018, the summer in which she also had the privilege to train professionally in New York City with "Broadway Artist Alliance." Upon her return, she started auditioning and training in the TV/Film industry while also gracing the stages of various cities in and around the Charlotte, NC area. After graduating high school as both an AP scholar and honor roll student in 2020, Josie signed with JTA Talent Agency and soon landed her first television role in the TV mini series "No Rest for the Wicked." She trains with The Actors Lab in Charlotte, NC, where she is a working member.

Offscreen, Josie continues her creative pursuits. She is a trained singer and dancer with experience in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theater. She works closely with local theater companies as a choreographer and runs/edits various social media platforms. She has written, directed, and self-produced films and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Josie Juliette Wert is an American actress with Privilege Talent Agency known for her compelling, nuanced performances and dynamic screen presence. With a background in both stage and film, she has earned acclaim for portraying emotionally rich and complex characters across a variety of genres and platforms. Born with a passion for storytelling, Wert began acting at a young age. She was honing her craft in local theater, as well as, tapping into storytelling through movement with a foundation in dance and skating, before transitioning to film and television. Although it was not her first role, her breakout role came in Sugarcane (Prime/Buffalo), where she drew attention for her nuanced performance and on-screen charisma. The film was featured in Variety's Best list of horror films 2025. Since then, she has appeared in notable films (including but not limited to) If Only [Cannes], Graceball [PBS], and 1999 [Lifetime/Prime] working with a range of directors and earning praise for her versatility, depth and work ethic. Regardless of genre or character, Wert brings authenticity, life and intensity to every role. In addition to her acting career, Josie Juliette Wert is an avid line & swing dancer, and continues to train in various styles of dance. She is constantly exploring opportunities behind the camera as a writer and producer, working on her first original feature. Additionally, she's an advocate for mental health and acting coach at The Working Actors Group and Studio27 Talent (Atlanta, Ga.) The Atlanta based performer is non-stop as she continues to build a career defined by fearless performances and a deep commitment to her craft.
