Cheska Navarro

Cheska is a Filipino American composer and scientist based in San Diego, California. During her science undergraduate studies and the beginning of the COVID pandemic in 2019, she discovered she wanted to become a film and TV composer.
Since committing her life to music, she has collaborated with storytellers across the U.S. and internationally on several film projects, and is passionate about bringing underrepresented stories to the big screen. In Feb. 2022, she won Best Original Score at the Berlin Short Awards film festival.
Her most recent score for the film Good Filipino Kids (2023) by Andrew Acedo, a filmmaker and community manager at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, is currently on its way to festivals. She has also written music for live string quartet which was recorded in Manchester, UK.
